We are recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to join Vertu Ford Orpington, a high‑volume, fast‑paced and demanding service operation.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable operating in a busy environment and is motivated by challenge. The site requires a hands‑on, resilient leader who is prepared to get stuck in, drive change and rebuild consistency across the service department.

We’re offering a competitive basic salary with an OTE of £75,000 with a six month guarantee, plus a company car (electric options available) and a strong benefits package. With a full technician team already in place, the workshop has solid capacity, meaning there is genuine earning potential for a commercially focused Service Manager.

About the role

You’ll take responsibility for a 15‑ramp workshop and a very busy service department, owning performance, profitability and customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full operational leadership of a high‑volume service department
  • Driving financial performance, efficiency and cost control
  • Embedding structure, process and accountability across the service team
  • Leading, coaching and developing your management and advisor teams
  • Ensuring manufacturer standards, compliance and health & safety requirements are consistently met
  • Improving customer satisfaction and retention in a demanding environment

About you

We’re looking for a strong, experienced Service or Aftersales Manager with main dealer / PLC experience who is not afraid of a challenge.

You will bring

  • Proven experience managing a busy, high‑pressure service operation
  • A hands‑on leadership style — you’re comfortable getting involved where needed
  • The ability to stabilise teams, drive standards and improve performance
  • Strong commercial awareness and people management skills
  • A full UK driving licence
