Our Programme Advisory Team

The Programme Advisory team works with our Delivery Partner clients across some of the largest and most complex programmes in the UK and beyond in the Nuclear, Aviation, Defence, Water, Power & Renewables, and Transportation sectors.

Your role

You’ll work across a variety of client programmes, supported by some of the most experienced teams across the global AtkinsRéalis business, while developing your own career journey. This role will allow you to design, develop and automate the organisation’s reporting infrastructure. You will help transition the business from manual, spreadsheet‑based processes to dynamic, scalable solutions.
About you
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented data analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in Power BI, Excel and dashboard development, with a strong ability to investigate data issues, streamline processes and deliver clear, reliable insights. This role involves working independently to audit data, map processes, identify data sources and endpoints, and produce accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Dashboards and performance reporting: Design, build and maintain automated Power BI dashboards and KPI reports that replace manual Excel processes and deliver accurate, real‑time insights.
- Data modelling and analysis: Develop robust data models, write DAX expressions and Power Query transformations. Analyse data to identify trends and translate insights for non‑technical audiences.
- Reporting automation: Lead the automation of reporting workflows and develop efficient pipelines across sources such as Excel, SharePoint, SQL and cloud platforms.
- Data quality and governance: Conduct data audits, implement validation checks and maintain clear data definitions and documentation to ensure reliable, consistent reporting.
- Process mapping: Document key data and reporting processes to support consistency and strong data management practices.
- Stakeholder engagement: Gather and prioritise reporting requirements, communicate complex information clearly and manage expectations around delivery and updates.
- Continuous improvement: Review and streamline existing reports, explore enhancements across the Microsoft data stack and share best practices to upskill colleagues.
Key Skills and Experience
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Excel, including dashboard/report development, data modelling and structured data management.
- Strong DAX and Power Query (M) skills with experience cleaning, shaping and integrating data from multiple sources.
- Solid understanding of data modelling principles, including star schemas, semantic models and dimensional modelling.
- Experience in data quality, governance and auditing, including data flow validation and documentation of technical standards.
- Ability to map and document processes, creating clear procedures that support consistent data and reporting practices.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and solve complex reporting challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
