Contract Quality Manager / QHSE Manager

6–9 Month Contract

Immediate Start Leading Manufacturing Business

We’re seeking an experienced Quality, Safety & Compliance Manager to lead a major integration project for a growing manufacturing site. You’ll streamline Quality, Compliance & H&S processes from multiple sister sites, rebuild a robust Quality Management System, and act as the site’s safety advocate.

As Quality Manager, you will take a lead role in the project, working to lead safety culture initiatives, manage quality systems integration, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

This role is perfect for a Quality Manager who loves getting stuck in, has strong organisational and people skills, and delivers real operational impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Compliance

  • Integrate business processes, tools, and work instructions from sister sites into the new integrated Quality system (ISO9001)
  • Support the Operations Manager, Quality Engineer and Manufacturing Engineers with Continuous Improvement, Quality investigations, root cause analysis and preventative actions.
  • Re‑establish internal controls and update procedures
  • Establish internal audits and support supplier/external audits
  • Own regulatory standards for manufacturing, product testing and shipping / Oversee regulatory compliance (CE, UKCA, RoHS, WEEE).
  • Support technical file approval and Declaration of Conformity (DoC) releases.
  • Lead weekly quality performance reviews

Site Safety Lead

  • Champion a strong, positive safety culture
  • Lead safety initiatives, risk assessments, investigations and corrective actions

What You Bring:

  • HNC/D engineering qualification preferred, strong Quality background in manufacturing.
  • Experience with electro‑mechanical assembly or closely related manufacturing processes.
  • 3–5 years in a similar role with people‑leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication and practical skills.
  • Able to read engineering drawings
