Interim Project Manager

Job Description

Starfish Search is supporting a London Borough to appoint an Interim Project Manager.

This is a key technical and project leadership role within Highway Operations, responsible for delivering complex public realm and highways schemes. The postholder will lead end-to-end project delivery across a diverse portfolio including highways, drainage, traffic engineering, structures and road safety.

You will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality, compliant and efficient delivery of infrastructure projects, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and the public.

You will:

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of highways projects
• Manage project programmes, risks and resources
• Oversee contractors, ensuring quality and compliance
• Provide technical advice on highways engineering and traffic management
• Manage contracts, procurement and project budgets
• Engage effectively with stakeholders, members and residents

You will have:

• Proven experience delivering highways or public realm projects
• Strong knowledge of highways standards and relevant legislation
• Experience managing contractors and contracts within a public sector environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
