We're looking for a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business in Stockport known for designing and manufacturing safety-critical equipment used across industrial environments.
This is a role suited to someone who’s been there, done it and can take designs from concept through to manufacture with minimal guidance.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?
- Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
- Producing detailed CAD drawings and technical documentation
- Supporting bids, quotes and new product development projects
- Improving designs for performance, cost and manufacturability
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
What do you need?
- Significant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and PDM systems
- Proven experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture
- A solid understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
- Confidence working independently and making technical decisions
