We are recruiting a Quality Engineer for our reputable client (permanent position)

Location: Melksham, WiltshireSalary: £40,000-£45,000Bonus: Up to 10%Pension: Matched up to 7.5%Role: Quality Engineer

About our Client hiring a Quality Engineer:

An established engineering and manufacturing business with a strong focus on quality, compliance and continuous improvement. They are now seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support production, process control, new product introduction and supplier quality across a technically demanding product range.

Key Responsibilities as a Quality Engineer:

Lead quality activities across productionReview processes, controls and documentation, driving corrective actions and improvementsMaintain SOPs, Control Plans and other quality documentsCarry out patrol, final and document auditsSupport NPI, APQP, PFMEA and validation activitiesSupport design reviews, change control, fault finding and failure analysisCarry out incoming inspection and support supplier quality activitiesLead root cause investigations and continuous improvement workSupport testing, SPC, process capability analysis and data-driven improvementsEnsure compliance with ISO 9001 and control of quality records and certification documentsProvide technical quality support across Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain

Requirements for the Quality Engineer role:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in quality engineering or a related technical roleStrong understanding of quality engineering within a manufacturing environmentAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specificationsStrong root cause analysis and problem-solving skillsExperience with process control tools, data analysis and statistical methodsKnowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system requirements

Desirable experience for the Quality Engineer role:

Experience in electronics manufacturingKnowledge of IPC standardsLead Auditor certificationExperience with supplier quality and incoming inspectionKnowledge of PFMEA, DFMEA, APQP and PPAPUnderstanding of RoHS, REACH, traceability and product compliance requirementsExperience with Excel, Power BI, Power Automate or VisioSix Sigma, SPC or Green Belt trainingExperience with functional, environmental or reliability testingKnowledge of Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement tools
