We’re working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager with proven GP client experience to join their specialist medical team.
Please note prior experience managing GP/medical clients within an accountancy practice is essential for this role.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of GP practice clients, providing both compliance and advisory support across accounts, tax and NHS pension matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and reviewing GP practice accounts
- Preparing and submitting GP superannuation certificates
- Handling personal and partnership tax for GP clients
- Advising on drawings, profit allocation and tax planning
- Submitting annual estimates via PCSE
- Managing NHS Pension Scheme requirements, including:
- Liaising with NHS for AAPSS
- Calculating Annual Allowance positions
- Completing RPPS reporting and compliance
- Acting as a trusted advisor to clients and building strong relationships
About You
- Proven experience working with GP/medical clients in an accountancy practice (essential)
- Currently operating at Manager level (or ready step-up with clear ownership of a portfolio)
- Strong knowledge of:
- GP accounts
- Partnership tax
- NHS pension processes (desirable but highly beneficial)
- Confident advising clients and managing relationships independently
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
