Band G SCP 32 – 37 (£42,839 – £48,226 per annum) dependent on experience

Time 37 hours per week

A permanent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join the Finance Team with Sandwell Children’s Trust.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner this role will support the production of budget monitoring and forecasting information, ensuring that all budget holders are fully briefed on their financial performance and ensuring that all funding streams are maximised for the Trust. This role plays an important part in maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, supporting compliance, and helping the Trust deliver value for money and high-quality services for children and families.

The Postholder Will Contribute To

  • Performance Reporting: Preparing clear, accurate financial reports and commentary for budget holders to support informed decisions and effective resource management.
  • Financial Compliance: Assisting with accurate ledger entries, control account reconciliations, and month and year-end processes to help meet statutory deadlines and audit standards.
  • Strategic Support: Providing financial modelling and scenario analysis to aid service planning and resource allocation, supporting the Trusts ability to respond to changing priorities. The development of reports that show monthly trends and use non-financial information such as headcount and placement numbers to validate financial forecasts and trends will enhance the understanding of the Trusts financial information.

Requirements

  • Fully Qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent or part qualified member of a Chartered Accounting body.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience gained in a financial management environment, preferably at least some within a public sector environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to use financial systems and Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to set and work to deadlines. Attention to details and accuracy.
