White Cube was set up by Jay Jopling in 1993 as a project room for contemporary art. The gallery has since grown into one of the most influential commercial galleries in the world, representing internationally renowned artists such as Georg Baselitz, Tracey Emin, Antony Gormley, Mona Hatoum, Anselm Kiefer, Liu Wei, Park Seo Bo, Doris Salcedo and Jeff Wall. White Cube’s exhibition programme extends across locations in London, Hong Kong, Paris, New York, Seoul and online. Since its inception in 1993, the gallery has exhibited the work of many of the world’s most highly acclaimed contemporary artists.
The Role
We are seeking a talented MuleSoft Developer to lead the design, development and deployment of integrations across White Cube’s technology systems and landscape, using MuleSoft as our enterprise middleware platform. This role will lead integration architecture within a transformation environment, delivering scalable and secure data flows across all systems. As a MuleSoft specialist, you will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders and vendors to deliver and support best-in-class API-led connectivity and middleware solutions that support White Cube’s growth ambitions.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience supporting integration development in a fast-paced agile technology transformation environment.
- Proven full lifecycle development experience on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and its components (Design Center, Exchange, Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager).
- Experience defining and implementing API governance frameworks, standards and lifecycle management across multiple environments (dev, test, prod).
- Hands-on experience with automated MuleSoft deployments using Runtime Fabric or CloudHub, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), and environment configuration management.
- Strong knowledge of API security enforcement and data privacy controls aligned with GDPR and SOC 2 standards.
- Strong API-led integration design skills, with experience in RESTful and SOAP web services and other integration protocols.
- Strong understanding of data lineage, audit and governance principles within integrations.
- Strong knowledge of integration security (OAuth2, SAML, TLS, encryption).
- Strong SQL skills, including writing and interpreting complex queries.
- Proficiency in working with XML, XSLT, JSON and XSD.
- Experience with ETL, data pipelines and data modelling.
- Familiarity with source control tools (GitHub/GitLab), versioning and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Ability to troubleshoot, monitor and optimise the performance of Mule applications.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse requirements across multiple systems and departments, delivering comprehensive integration solutions.
- Own and maintain the integration architecture to ensure scalable, secure and future-ready connectivity across systems.
- Define and implement API governance frameworks, standards and lifecycle management across multiple environments (dev, test, prod).
- Integrate MuleSoft with event streaming platforms (e.g.Kafka, SNS/SQS).
- Design, build and refactor complex APIs to integrate internal and external platforms.
- Develop integration packages, ETL processes and data workflows connecting systems such as Salesforce, Snowflake, finance systems, WMS and inventory management systems.
- Implement new REST and SOAP APIs, including error handling, retries and logging.
- Maintain and support production integrations by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues and ensuring SLAs are met.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Product Owners to optimise data quality, workflows and middleware management.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and architectural artefacts to communicate integration patterns and standards.
- Ensure integrations conform to cybersecurity and data governance standards.
- Stay up to date with MuleSoft and integration technology trends, recommending opportunities for improvement.
- Manage multi-system data exchange between backend services, front-end applications and third-party APIs.
- Support change management efforts, helping technical and non-technical stakeholders understand and adopt new processes and technologies.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
- Support planned maintenance windows and on-call requirements.
