Transport Supervisor – Night shift

We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our team at Panther. In this role you will control our transport function, interfacing and communicating between our depots to ensure timely transport operations, leading to first class service to our customers.

Your responsibilities will be –

• Complete a running log throughout shift.
• Ensure all transport tasks are carried out and completed in accordance with daily transport plan.
• Supervise the transport night operation.
• Conduct spot checks on departing vehicles from site. Ensure the inspection log is completed.
• Control trailer movements and log their destination / location.
• Communicate with depots and provide regular updates on progress / problems with trucking vehicles.
• Ensure vehicles / trailers are loaded to capacity prior to departure.
• Carryout vehicle downloads as required / identified by Transport Manager.
• Ensure all trunk vehicles depart on time.
• Monitor driver infringements
• License checks

We are looking for someone who –

• Willing to take on board new commitments/responsibilities as and when required.
• Conducting additional ad hoc duties as required.
• Have good IT, administration and communication skills.
• Flexible attitude.
• Previous experience in a Transport role is essential.
• Self starter (ability to work unsupervised).
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure.
• Excellent prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Understand current Road Transport Legislation and digital tachographs.
• Holder of a Transport Management CPC would be desirable although not essential.
