SR2’s client has a consumer facing platform which interacts with customers via mobile apps. You’ll take ownership of major parts of our clients Swift mobile experience across two apps, working in a small, high-trust team where engineers have genuine input into what gets built and how.
This is a build-and-ship role: balancing reliability and performance improvements with fast, iterative feature delivery.
Overview
- Build new features and improve existing flows using Swift (ideally SwiftUI where appropriate, or UIKit where needed).
- Integrate and collaborate on API/data contracts with REST services as well as real-time gRPC based services
- Implement payment flows where needed (e.g. Stripe)
- Improve legacy areas and raise engineering standards (architecture, testing, CI/CD)
- Enhance performance, reliability, and offline capabilities
- Collaborate closely with product and operations to ship usable releases quickly
Requirements
- Strong experience shipping production iOS apps in Swift.
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture), dependency management, and maintainable codebases.
- Confident with APIs and data modelling; comfortable collaborating on backend contracts and database structure.
- Practical testing mindset: unit tests (and UI tests where appropriate), with a quality-first approach.
- Ownership mentality: you can lead sizeable features independently and communicate clearly.
- Firebase (Firestore, Auth, Functions, Messaging) and/or event-driven mobile patterns.
- Experience working in early-stage teams where priorities and scope evolve fast.
