Overview
As a Senior Systems and Information Officer, you will play a crucial role in strengthening the quality, reliability and strategic value of staff data across the University of Leicester. Working within Human Resources, you will take the lead in monitoring, analysing and improving data processes to ensure our information is accurate, robust and ready for statutory, sector and internal reporting. You will draw on your expertise to generate meaningful insights, produce management information to meet varied customer needs, and maintain comprehensive reporting tools and dashboards that support effective decision-making across the institution.
Responsibilities
- Act as an expert SAP HR ‘super user’, supporting colleagues with complex enquiries and facilitating improvements in systems, workflows and data entry practice.
- Develop and deliver training, update HR intranet content, contribute to responses for Freedom of Information and Data Subject requests, and work closely with Payroll, Digital Services and Information Assurance.

Qualifications
- Significant experience in data management, business intelligence, HR or similar operational environments, with a proven ability to work confidently with large and complex datasets.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced use of digital tools, particularly large spreadsheets and Office 365, enabling interpretation of information and production of high-quality insights.
- Understanding of accuracy, governance and compliance, and ability to apply these principles in day-to-day work.
- Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, provide clear guidance, resolve issues independently and support colleagues to improve their own data practices.
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach to identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to an efficient, customer-centred HR service.
- Experience with SAP HR or sector-specific reporting would be beneficial, though not essential.
