Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team at HMP Long Lartin is looking for a dynamic and experienced registered mental health nurse. Our team is innovative, forward thinking and committed to a recovery focused approach.

Main duties

  • Working effectively within the team you will provide evidence-based interventions. You will manage a caseload of patients and will be required to undertake assessments and reviews.
  • Using a Care Programme Approach, you will be a care coordinator, communicating effectively with those involved in the care of our patients in custody and on release.
  • The role will require you to be a reflective practitioner, eager to work collaboratively with patients, carers and team members to contribute to the delivery of an effective, dynamic, specialist mental health service.
  • You will work with individuals from initial assessment through to discharge, which can include transferring care to other providers such as hospitals or CMHTs whilst working with a variety of agencies in the Offender Health Pathway.
  • You will help to rehabilitate and support service users to live hopeful and fulfilling lives as members of the community.
