Job Description:

This organisation is delivering several major infrastructure programmes, including multi‑billion‑pound projects designed to ensure long-term resilience and sustainability. As a Conflict of Interest Compliance Manager, you will play a central role in safeguarding the integrity and transparency of these programmes.

You will work primarily on a flagship reservoirs initiative while also supporting other areas of the business. Your mission is to ensure employees, leaders, partners, and suppliers operate to the highest ethical standards, identifying and mitigating conflicts of interest throughout each stage of the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and update conflict of interest (COI) policies.
  • Provide expert advice to employees, senior leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the organisation aligns with legal, ethical, and regulatory compliance standards.

Monitoring, Reporting & Records Management

  • Conduct compliance monitoring and audits.
  • Investigate potential COIs and maintain accurate, auditable records.
  • Report findings and escalations to senior management and relevant regulatory bodies.

Disclosure Management

  • Lead the end‑to‑end COI disclosure process.
  • Oversee assessments of declared interests and recommend appropriate mitigations or actions.
  • Design and deliver training programmes tailored to COI risks and governance expectations.
  • Embed a culture of transparency and ethical behaviour across the organisation.
  • Support risk reviews and advise on COI‑related mitigation measures.
  • Provide compliance insight across major projects, ensuring risks are effectively managed from mobilisation through delivery.

What It Takes to Succeed

The ideal candidate will be a principled, analytical professional with the capability to interpret complex scenarios and assess their implications across a major projects environment. You will need strong communication and stakeholder management ability, excellent judgement, and confidence advising at senior levels.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in law, business, finance, procurement/supply chain, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification (or working towards one), such as:
  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM)
  • Experience working within major projects/programmes involving multiple contractors, subcontractors, or consultants.
  • Experience in regulated environments.
  • Experience within the utilities sector (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks related to:
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Ethics
  • Corporate governance
  • Ability to assess nuanced delivery models and funding arrangements.
