An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Contracts Director to join a long standing client of ours – a leading organisation operating at the heart of the healthcare sector. This is a high-profile, newly created role, offers the chance to take ownership of a major contract portfolio and play a critical role in driving commercial excellence.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be instrumental in strengthening contract performance, enhancing commercial governance, and unlocking value across a complex operating environment.

The Role

You will:

  • Take ownership of high-value, complex contracts, ensuring strong commercial outcomes
  • Lead strategic negotiations and act as the key commercial voice in client engagements
  • Drive performance improvement, embedding robust KPI monitoring and governance
  • Identify and realise commercial opportunities, including change control and contract variations
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a joined-up, commercially focused approach
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across both the organisation and its partners
  • Lead on risk management and dispute resolution, ensuring balanced, pragmatic outcomes

About You

You are a confident and commercially astute leader who thrives in complex environments and brings a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

You will bring:

  • Professional qualification as an Accountant or Quantity Surveyor (5+ years PQE)
  • Strong experience managing large-scale public sector or PFI-style contracts is essential
  • A track record of successful negotiation and influencing at senior levels
  • The ability to translate complex contractual detail into clear, actionable insight
  • A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, delivery-focused approach
  • Demonstrable experience leading contract negotiations with values of £40m +
