Job Overview
Applications are invited for the post of Business Manager (KTP Associate for Strategic Business & Investment) in Royal Holloway Business School. This innovative role is part of a funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Royal Holloway, University of London and a high‑growth, innovative software company specialising in 5G network technology. The company has a proven track record in R&D, with contracts from prestigious organisations including the UK and European Space Agencies. This KTP aims to embed strategic management, investment readiness, and business development capabilities to accelerate the company’s growth and scalability.
The Business Manager (KTP Associate) will be a key appointment, instrumental in bridging the worlds of cutting‑edge technology, strategic business management, and the investment community. You will be a full‑time employee of the University, benefiting from its training, support, and academic expertise, while being embedded within the dynamic environment of the business partner. You will develop, lead, and implement a comprehensive strategy to:
Responsibilities
- secure venture capital and institutional investment to fuel the company’s growth;
- drive new business development and sales, particularly within government and private sectors;
- enhance internal management and strategic planning capabilities to support scalable growth;
- act as the critical link between the company’s technological expertise and the investment/funding community.
Requirements
You will have a minimum of 2 years’ professional experience within the finance industry or technology sector, with direct, hands‑on experience of the venture capital fundraising process (e.g., in VC, corporate finance, investment banking, or as a founder who has successfully raised funds); working knowledge of 5G technology, network software, and its commercial applications; and exceptional communication & presentation skills. A good honours degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is required, and an MBA or relevant Master’s degree will be desirable.
