Teaching Assistant

A welcoming primary school in Greenwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). This specialist unit supports pupils with autism, ADHD, and associated challenging behaviours.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning and develop key social, emotional, and communication skills.

The Role:

• Provide support to pupils within the ARP, both 1:1 and in small groups
• Assist children with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and engaging with learning
• Support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
• Help implement individual support strategies and behaviour plans
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN staff to create a structured and supportive environment
• Support transitions between activities and promote positive routines

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children with additional needs, particularly autism and/or ADHD (in school, care, or similar settings)
• Understanding of challenging behaviour and strategies to support it
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
