Senior Electrical Engineer – Remote/Hybrid

OverviewA leading engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to focus on transmission and distribution projects. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, with occasional travel required to one of the company’s offices based on your location. There is a clear career path to develop into Principle level, with a strong pipeline of major projects.
Key Responsibilities– Undertake detailed Protection & Control designs under an agreed design authority– Interpret client specifications and prepare comprehensive technical documentation and Bills of Quantities– Technically review supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements– Produce and check design calculations, drawings, and secondary system designs– Participate actively in design reviews, checks, and design risk assessments– Provide technical guidance to engineers and support other designers to ensure quality delivery– Assist construction teams with specialist input on substation automation and secondary systems– Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver compliant and constructible designs– Mentor and support junior engineers through knowledge sharing and review
Requirements– Demonstrated experience in delivering design for 440kV systems– Deep knowledge of protection schemes, substation automation, and secondary systems– Experience working within multi-discipline teams and coordinating with suppliers and contractors– Practical, safety-conscious approach to delivering commercially aware engineering solutions
