Job Description:

Our client, a leader in the airport infrastructure sector, is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of the Terminal Extension Project within a UK airport environment. This major project aims to expand the main terminal, increasing passenger capacity and enhancing overall operational efficiency at one of the UK’s fastest-growing airports. The project is in the delivery phase, commencing with advanced enabling works. The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in co-ordinating delivery activities, maintaining progress against critical milestones, and ensuring seamless integration with the broader programme and live airport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of the project construction works, ensuring alignment with programme objectives.
  • Coordinate contractors and delivery partners working under NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with scope, quality, safety, and commercial requirements.
  • Monitor progress, proactively identify risks and issues, and drive mitigation and resolution plans.
  • Support robust commercial management, change control, and contract administration.
  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure construction activities are safely integrated into a live, passenger-facing environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, ensuring timely reporting and alignment across the programme.
  • Lead site-based coordination, inspections, and workshops, with a strong presence on site (minimum three days per week).

Job Requirements:

We are looking for a Project Manager with:

  • Proven experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within aviation or other live operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with NEC contract management.
  • Demonstrable ability to coordinate multiple delivery workstreams and contractors.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including communications across commercial, engineering, and operational teams.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Experience managing enabling works and understanding interfaces with operations, logistics, and airport safety procedures (desirable).
