We are recruiting for a reputable multi-site manufacturer who are looking to appoint a Technical Manager as part of their succession planning. We are seeking a strong leader with proven people management and compliance experience to take on a pivotal role, helping to shape product quality, sustainability, and long-term reliability across the business. The Role
You will oversee the Technical Department across UK operations, managing multiple sites, laboratories, and a team of up to 15 technical staff. The role covers the full lifecycle of materials strategy, from sourcing and approving raw materials through to laboratory oversight and ensuring product compliance across all sites.
This is a regional position covering the UK and Ireland. Regular travel and overnight stays will be required.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining safety, quality, and sustainability standards across all sitesDriving research, development, and innovation initiativesSupporting strategic decision-making across operationsProviding senior leadership and representing the business externallyActing as the primary quality liaison with customers, suppliers, and external bodiesManaging complaints, non-conformances and supplier issues through to root cause and resolutionImplementing and driving continuous improvement across the business
Requirements
Proven experience as a Technical Manager or Quality Manager at department levelBackground within ceramics, aggregates, quarrying or similar materials environmentsStrong experience in materials management, product development and complianceLaboratory experienceHands-on leadership approachStrong root cause analysis and continuous improvement experienceIdeally qualified in Ceramic Engineering or a related discipline
