A Local Authority in the North West of England is seeking a Housing Officer to support the effective management of residential housing within the community. This is an initial 6-month contract, offering an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in housing management, tenancy support, or estate services.
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality housing management service, ensuring tenants are supported and properties are well maintained. Acting as a main point of contact for residents, you will manage tenancy-related matters, address day-to-day housing issues, and work closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of residential properties across the local area
- Acting as the primary point of contact for tenants
- Supporting tenancy management, including sign-ups, changes, and sustainment
- Conducting regular estate inspections and tenancy visits
- Handling anti-social behaviour cases and resolving tenant disputes
- Liaising with repairs teams, contractors, and support services
- Ensuring properties and communal areas are maintained to a high standard
- Promoting a safe, clean, and positive living environment
About You
The council is looking to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience working in housing management, tenancy support, or housing officer roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and tenant-focused approach
- Experience dealing with anti-social behaviour and tenancy issues
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies
