Job Description:

As an Ophthalmology Doctor with Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn you will:

  • Provide routine care, diagnosing and treating eye diseases and injuries as well as performing corrective surgeries.
  • Manage emergency and specialist eye treatment clinics.
  • Liaise with medical and non‑medical staff to ensure quality treatment.
  • Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information to explain findings using a variety of methods to ensure practical understanding.
  • Deliver shared patient decision‑making communication.
  • Work in and where appropriate lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess and prioritise patient/client requirements, delegating effectively to others.
  • Recognise, review, and report a patient’s condition and any changes to the patient and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Perform basic administrative and clerical tasks. Be a GMC registered doctor (you do NOT need to be on the Specialist Register). Have relevant experience at Consultant level, or references to support your transition up to Consultant level.
  • Hold evidence of standing alone right to work in the UK (locum jobs cannot offer visa sponsorship).
  • Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
