Overview
The Domestic Abuse Specialist Team (DAST) is seeking a part-time Caring Dads Facilitator to join the Caring Dads Team. As a facilitator, you will be involved in delivering the Caring Dads programme across Warwickshire. The role requires the successful candidate to be available for evening work at community venues across Warwickshire.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the Caring Dads Programme across Warwickshire, working with an experienced co-facilitator to deliver sessions in the evenings (6pm – 8pm).
- Be involved in groupwork delivery and support child-centred fathering by increasing self-awareness, responsibility, and skills in managing emotions, promoting respect and building trust.
- Understand the impact of domestic abuse on children and families and apply this understanding in group sessions.
- Contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment and participate in ongoing learning and evaluation of the programme.
Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification deemed appropriate by the council such as probation, teaching, counselling, guidance professional or social work qualification, level 4 or above.
About the Programme and Context
The Caring Dads Programme is an evidence-based intervention helping fathers with abusive or neglectful behaviour change toward child-centred fathering, fostering healthier parent-child bonds, increasing self-awareness, responsibility and skills in managing emotions, promoting respect, and building trust to enhance child well-being and safety.
Hours and Location
Part-time; evenings 6pm – 8pm; groups run at community venues across Warwickshire. Flexibility will be required to accommodate evening sessions.
Interviews and Selection
The interview process will include a 10-minute presentation by the candidate facilitating group learning. Shortlisted candidates will be provided with relevant information ahead of interview.
