Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations serving high-performance motorsport customers. This hands‑on role will manage a small on‑site team, ensuring production excellence, efficiency, and quality while maintaining strong relationships with demanding motorsport clients. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced, precision‑driven environment and has a proven track record in manufacturing operations management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a small on‑site team to deliver high-quality products on time and to specification.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain and improve operational processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with motorsport clients, understanding their requirements and ensuring exceptional service.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all operations.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, identify operational risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support the introduction of new products, technologies, and processes to meet customer demands.
  • Manage supplier relationships and coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams as required.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Prepare operational reports and present updates to senior management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in manufacturing operations management, ideally in motorsport, automotive, or high‑precision engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a small, on‑site team.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, process optimisation, and quality management systems.
  • Experience managing client relationships in high-pressure, high-performance environments.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Ability to work on‑site and adapt to the fast‑paced demands of motorsport production schedules.
  • Experience with CNC machining, assembly, or motorsport component production.
  • Familiarity with motorsport industry standards and expectations.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement qualifications.
