We are currently seeking a QA/QC Project Manager to join our UK team within the Thermal Power & HVDC Division of Metlen Energy & Metals. This is a UK‑wide opportunity, and we welcome applications from suitably qualified professionals across the country. As a Project Planner, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex, large‑scale energy projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary project teams, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling project schedules, ensuring timely and efficient execution in line with contractual and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full implementation and compliance with the Project Quality Plan, HSE requirements, and Metlen Energy & Metals Quality Standards.
- Lead and oversee all site quality activities across civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, ensuring alignment with project specifications and contractual requirements.
- Establish and maintain effective quality control processes, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), procedures, and documentation systems.
- Monitor subcontractor quality performance, ensuring inspections are conducted by qualified personnel using calibrated equipment and in accordance with approved ITPs.
- Manage non‑conformities (NCRs), ensuring timely identification, reporting, corrective actions, and proper close‑out.
- Review and approve quality documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and final project dossiers.
- Coordinate with the Site Manager, Construction teams, and Client to ensure consistent quality delivery and issue resolution.
- Lead and participate in inspections, audits, walkdowns, and third‑party quality assessments.
- Provide guidance and support to QA/QC teams, ensuring proper implementation of procedures and continuous improvement of quality processes.
- Drive quality reporting (daily/weekly/monthly) and ensure transparency on project quality performance and risks.
- Promote a strong quality culture across all project stakeholders through leadership, communication, and training initiatives.
- Act as the main point of contact for all quality‑related matters with the Client and external stakeholders.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials and equipment in line with specifications and manufacturer requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in QA/QC within large‑scale EPC or industrial projects (e.g., Power Plants, Oil & Gas, Energy infrastructure).
- University degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of international construction codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., EN, ASME, PED, Machinery Directive, ATEX).
- Proven experience in implementing and managing Quality Management Systems.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
