Operation Team Lead | Tamworth – On-site | Competitive Salary + Benefits

About the Role

As an Operation Team Lead at Moonpig Tamworth, you’ll play a key role in keeping our production running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Leading across fabrication, print, inbound/outbound and OTS, you’ll coordinate people, processes, and equipment to ensure we consistently meet our production SLAs.

Working closely with the Shift Manager and Maintenance team, you’ll help create a well‑organised, high‑performing environment—especially during peak periods. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll step in when needed, support your team, and drive continuous improvement across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the operation, including performance, people, and processes
  • Coordinate staffing levels to ensure effective coverage across shifts and peak periods
  • Ensure production SLAs are consistently achieved
  • Communicate daily with Shift Managers to align on priorities and workload
  • Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to resolve HP-related issues
  • Ensure availability of stock and consumables, raising orders when required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised print room environment
  • Ensure all equipment completes Start of Shift (SOS) and End of Shift (EOS) checks
  • Support preventative maintenance schedules alongside the Maintenance team
  • Step into operational tasks when needed to maintain output and quality
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members and operators
  • Track and escalation technical issues, ensuring timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate records of shift handovers, machine status, and incidents
  • Monitor and uphold safety, cleanliness, and process standards
  • Organise and coordinate maintenance activities with internal and external teams
  • Set high standards for performance, quality, and safety
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training planning
  • Champion a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

About You

  • Experience leading a team in a fast‑paced production or operational environment
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence managing staffing, rotas, and training needs
  • Comfortable working cross‑functionally with maintenance, supply chain, and operations teams
  • Hands‑on approach with the flexibility to support operational demands
  • Awareness of maintenance scheduling or equipment tracking systems (desirable)
  • Understanding of continuous improvement or lean principles (desirable)
  • Experience supporting budgets, training, or supply ordering (desirable)
