APD delivers project, programme, and commercial management services and advisory solutions across built environment sectors. APD services range up to £20bn project scales, offering disciplines including programme management, project management, project controls, scheduling, cost management, estimating, infrastructure finance, management consulting, digital consulting and education, health and care management.
Role Purpose and Responsibilities
Project Management Services To Include
- Advise the client to help define the strategic brief, including goals and objectives of the project
- Support the client to establish and procure the project team
- Define project success factors including time, cost, quality, environmental, and social outcomes
- Define and agree project governance structure aligned to client and legislative requirements
- Produce a detailed project execution plan outlining how the project will be managed
- Establish reporting requirements and production of progress reports
- Lead and act as an integrator of multidiscipline services at all stages of the project lifecycle
- Establish and manage the change control process
- Monitor and advise upon project performance against success indicators
- Implement performance management techniques, including KPIs to improve project performance
- Establish a communication strategy and information management plan and manage interfaces between all parties and the client
In addition to project management for clients, you will manage internal commissions and work with Account Leaders to position and win new work. Other internal project management and business development responsibilities include:
- Manage commissions in accordance with our BMS process
- Oversee resourcing and commercial performance of commissions, managing risk and maximising opportunities
- Capture project capability and value evidence through case studies and client feedback
- Support account leaders to develop new opportunities, including cross‑selling solutions
- Manage bids through our WIN process
- Drive innovation to support efficiency and quality of service delivery
Candidate Specification
Essential
- Demonstrate alignment with Mott MacDonald PRIDE values
- Demonstrable relevant project management experience in the Buildings Sector
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of pre and post contract project management and contract management methodologies
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a larger team
- Working towards or be a MAPM / MRICS / MCIOB or equivalent Chartered Professional
Desirable
- Relationship building skills to develop strong client and stakeholder networks
- NEC Contract Management Experience
- Willingness to mentor and coach junior team members
- Excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills
- Soft skills including self-motivation, initiative, leadership, adaptability, collaboration, influence, and insightfulness
- Drive to innovate and implement best practices
