The difference you will make as a Senior Compliance Officer

Support the Contracts Manager in the mobilisation and contract management and administer a range of shared spaces & compliance contracts including Building Safety landlord Compliance, and reactive repairs to the fabric of the building and installed equipment. Act as the Competent Person for management and delivery of the Group’s statutory obligations for Compliance to key strategic building safety risks and the legal Responsible Person. This includes the delivery of relevant contracts, ensuring full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and implementing an effective risk management approach to compliance within the Group.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • In-depth knowledge of area of responsibility from one of the following: Mechanical Equipment, Electrical Equipment.
  • Proven record of successful contract implementation and management for a large and diverse portfolio of mixed tenure properties.
  • In-depth knowledge of contract types, including construction contracts, service level agreements, contract performance management and dispute resolution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general operating procedures within an Asset Management / Building Safety function.
  • Proven record of using Project Management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and key role requirements (Client, Principal Designer).
  • Effective stakeholder management, internally and externally, with the ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Results driven with strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyse complex information and provide meaningful management information.
  • Commercially aware with a focus on continuous improvement and the ability to drive change.
  • Customer focused with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to work at all levels within the business.
  • Excellent attention to detail, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Evidence of sound judgment in decision making.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Desirable• Professional qualification in building safety/Compliance, environmental services or Asset Management (e.g., Lv4 Diploma Asset Compliance) or HNC in Building/Construction/Asset Management or equivalent.• Knowledge of ICT systems including Housing Management Systems (e.g., Academy/Open Housing management, C365, Promaster).• Professional membership of a relevant construction industry body.

Role Profile

  • Accountable for the management of service delivery, contract management, risk management, monitoring controls and leading risk-based judgements for areas including Mechanical and Electrical Equipment (Access Control, Door entry, Automatic Doors, gates, & barriers, intruder alarms, security CCTV, IRS TV systems).
  • Contract Management of all service delivery to shared spaces, Compliance, and reactive repairs to building fabric and installed equipment.
  • Ensure Compliance with CDM Regulations and fulfil the role of Client, ensuring the principal designer and principal contractor are appointed.
  • Support the Contracts Manager in developing, implementing and reviewing the Compliance Management model, including policies, procedures, and guidance; provide training and stay up to date with legislation and industry best practice.
  • Support the Contracts Manager as the Group’s lead advisor across the lifecycle of buildings, providing technical, procedural, specification and compliance guidance.
  • Support the Compliance Manager in scoping, specifying, mobilisation and implementation of contracts, including assessing supplier competence during procurement and appointing suppliers on behalf of the Group.
  • Review existing contracted services, drive innovation and cost efficiencies, monitor performance and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Monitor and report on contracts with performance frameworks, SLAs and KPIs; lead performance reviews and address underperformance.
  • Maintain data integrity for maintenance, repairs and service charge contracts, ensuring procurement compliance and enabling reporting and analysis.
  • Analyse contract data and produce reports with findings and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Analyse statutory inspections outcomes and risk assessments, act as decision-maker on risk acceptance and mitigation, planning and monitoring mitigation activities.
  • Plan, schedule and oversee inspections, servicing and risk mitigation to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion.
  • Commission work from internal and external sources, monitor progress to contract standards and budgets, escalates as needed.
  • Manage stakeholders, provide training and build relationships to deliver Compliance objectives.
  • Contribute to budgets and ensure expenditure aligns with financial controls.
  • Maintain accurate installation and compliance records and ensure data quality for reporting.
  • Conduct compliance checks post-contract award and maintain records.
  • Escalate non-compliance promptly and coordinate access to supply arrangements.
  • Coordinate contract performance data from multiple sources to support reviews and evaluations.
  • Provide clear, supportive, and accurate advice to stakeholders on safety standards and compliance.
  • Ensure internal processes align with policy, procedures and statutory requirements; participate in continuous improvement; adapt to changes in work priorities.
  • Ensure data protection and health and safety requirements are met according to policy and statutory requirements.
