Overview

Location: Sheffield / Hybrid

Contract: until end of 2026

The Role

HSBC is seeking a high‑calibre, proactive Project Manager to join the DAO’s Data Change Centre of Excellence. You will play a critical role in delivering enhancements to DataVisa 1.0, while supporting a multi‑year programme that includes both:

  • Enhancing existing tooling
  • Building a brand‑new platform in parallel

You will work across several interconnected workstreams to ensure delivery remains on track, risks are identified early, and scrum teams are fully supported and held accountable.

This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused PM role in a large, complex global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of enhancements for DataVisa 1.0.
  • Ensure timely escalation of delivery risks to the Data Privacy Programme Lead.
  • Coordinate interdependencies across workstreams within the programme.
  • Hold scrum masters and delivery teams accountable; ensure momentum is maintained.
  • Detailed requirement reviews
  • Jira and Confluence oversight
  • Stakeholder reporting
  • Monitor progress against milestones & OKRs; prepare updates for senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues across a complex delivery landscape.
  • Build strong relationships with global stakeholders including GBGIs, Legal, DPOs, Technology, and regional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement and embed best practices.
  • Ensure resource allocation, budgeting considerations, and delivery quality remain on track.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting multiple parallel workstreams
  • Confident in Jira and Confluence
  • Strong stakeholder management skills are imperative
  • Skilled at simplifying complex delivery concepts for non‑technical audiences
  • Strong ownership mindset – able to drive, push, and hold teams accountable
  • Excellent risk awareness and early escalation instincts
  • Experience in regulated programmes (data, privacy, compliance, risk)
  • Background in large‑scale data, technology, or digital transformation
  • Not essential to come from financial services, but familiarity with complex global organisations is beneficial
