We’re Hiring: Retail Operations Manager (ROM)
Based at: Field based, role with frequent travel across your Area
Hours: Full time – flexibility required (including evenings and weekends)
What’s the role?
We’re looking for a strong, people-led leader to join our Retail Operations team at Robinsons.
As a Retail Operations Manager, you’ll lead a portfolio of our pubs and hotels—owning performance, standards and the overall guest experience.
You’ll work through our General Managers to build confident, capable teams, ensuring every pub delivers great service, strong commercial results and reflects the pride and heritage of Robinsons.
This is a key role in shaping the future of our estate—developing talent, driving performance and bringing our strategy to life across the business.
You’ll be getting involved in:
Leading performance
- Owning P&L performance across your area, driving sustainable profit and commercial success
- Using insight and data to understand performance and take action where needed
- Ensuring each pub is set up to maximise its full potential
Driving sales and guest experience
- Leading the delivery of sales growth through strong local execution and retail activity
- Championing exceptional guest experiences across every pub
- Ensuring our standards reflect the quality, warmth and pride of Robinsons
Building great teams
- Coaching and developing General Managers to build capability and confidence
- Creating a strong succession pipeline across your pubs
- Empowering teams to take ownership and deliver at their best
Bringing our plans to life
- Embedding business initiatives at site level with clarity and consistency
- Working closely with Head Office teams to deliver the best outcomes for pubs
- Supporting continuous improvement through feedback and insight from the estate
Staying close to the operation
- Maintaining a visible presence across your pubs, including evenings and weekends
- Understanding local markets and competitor activity to drive performance
- Ensuring high standards of compliance, safety and operational discipline
What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
- Proven multi-site operational experience within hospitality, retail or a similar environment
- Strong leadership skills, with a passion for developing people and building teams
- Commercial awareness and confidence working with financial performance
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with the ability to work at pace
- Full UK driving licence
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience developing succession pipelines and future leaders
- Experience implementing initiatives across multiple sites
- Strong understanding of operational systems and performance data
