This is a permanent 1x WTE Band 8a position to join the paediatric team in the role of a senior TYA haematology/oncology pharmacist with a specific interest in ambulatory care. This role is aimed at supporting the lead pharmacist and senior clinical pharmacist and may act as a direct deputy in their absence. The post holder will look after patients within the specialties of haematology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and general paediatrics, with service focus on the adolescent and young adult population.
The responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the development and approval of guidelines;
- Training junior pharmacists and leading on service development and improvement projects;
- Collaborating closely within the multi‑disciplinary team in all elements of clinical care, education, training, and ensuring clinical governance standards around medicines use for the Paediatrics Division;
- Delivering specialised pharmaceutical care to paediatric and adolescent patients with cancer, including haematology, CAR‑T and bone marrow transplant.
Qualifications and skills:
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent clinical experience, including specialist oncology/haematology experience;
- Independent prescribing qualification is highly desirable but not essential;
- Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
