Senior Product Designer

Checkout.com

Company Description We’re Checkout.com – you might not know our name, but companies like eBay, ASOS, Klarna, Uber Eats, and Sony do. That moment when you check out online? We make it happen. Checkout.com is where the world checks out. Our global network powers billions of transactions every year, making money move without making a fuss. We spent years perfecting a service most people will never notice, but when digital payments just work, businesses grow, customers stay, and no one stops to think about why.

Job Description Checkout.com is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape the next generation of merchant‑ and consumer‑facing financial experiences. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to design intuitive, scalable, and elegant products that empower businesses and people to thrive in the digital world.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Take full ownership of the user experience for complex, high‑volume merchant and consumer areas.
  • Set a high bar for design quality, focusing on pixel‑perfect visual craft, interaction design, and ensuring a trustworthy, high‑performance experience for the end‑consumer.
  • Act as a true partner to Product and Engineers, collaborating from problem definition through to launch.
  • Systematically identify, prioritise, and design opportunities to optimise conversion rates and usage, embedding A/B testing, experimentation, and growth design principles into daily workflow to deliver measurable business impact.
  • Actively maintain and grow our shared Design System by defining new patterns and components for the consumer ecosystem, ensuring scalability and consistency across all platforms and touch‑points.
  • Explore and leverage AI and generative tools for rapid prototyping, iteration, and visualising future states to improve speed and efficiency.
  • Be highly autonomous in managing planning, prioritisation, and delivery, confidently presenting vision and rationale to senior stakeholders to build consensus.
  • Contribute to a high‑performance design culture by sharing knowledge, providing constructive critique, and acting as a mentor and go‑to expert for cross‑functional peers.

About You

  • 5‑7 years of proven experience as a Product Designer with a track record of shipping impactful products in a fast‑moving, high‑growth, or scale‑up context.
  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating high‑conversion, consumer‑grade experiences.
  • Expertise in growth design, conversion optimisation, and A/B testing methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Deep knowledge and proven experience designing and shipping products for native mobile platforms, specifically iOS and Android.
  • Pragmatic systems thinker who excels at articulating a clear design point of view and aligning solutions with strategic business outcomes.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive, self‑motivated, with demonstrated success in managing projects and competing priorities.
  • Persuasive communication skills and adept at collaborating and influencing Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in Fintech (banking, payments) is highly desirable.

We believe in diverse skills and experiences, and encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single requirement listed above.
