Senior HR Advisor (UK & Ireland)

Location – Southampton (with frequent travel to Ipswich, Liverpool & Dublin)Contract – Full Time, 35 hours per week, Permanent 

 

Ocean Network Express is looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor to join our UK & Ireland Agency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR generalist who thrives on variety, enjoys partnering with stakeholders, and has a strong grounding in employee relations and employment law.

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle, while also contributing to strategic HR priorities and continuous improvement projects.

This role is Southampton-based, with regular travel to support teams in Ipswich, Liverpool and Dublin, so flexibility is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR guidance and support to employees and managers across the UK & IE business

  • Lead on complex employee relations cases including disciplinaries, grievances and absence management

  • Support recruitment activity and help attract and secure top talent

  • Identify learning and development needs and deliver internal training sessions

  • Assist the Head of HR in delivering strategic priorities including D&I and transformation initiatives

  • Use HR data, KPIs and management information to influence business decisions

  • Deputise for the Head of HR when required and provide cover for the HR Coordinator

 

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or degree-level equivalent)

  • Significant experience in a generalist HR advisory role

  • Strong knowledge of UK & Irish employment law and HR best practice

  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues

  • Commercial and strategic mindset Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise under pressure
