Domestic Cleaner / Housekeeper
Location: Potters Bar, EN6
Hours: Initially 2 days per week, with progression to 3 days and potentially full-time based on performance and household needs
Salary: Negotiable
Reporting to: Principal
We are seeking a reliable, discreet, and detail-oriented Domestic Cleaner / Housekeeper to support the smooth running of a private household. This role is ideally suited to someone experienced in similar environments who understands the importance of professionalism, confidentiality, and maintaining exceptional standards.
This is a part-time position initially, with clear progression to additional days and potentially a full-time role for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- General cleaning of the property to a consistently high standard
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and upkeep of all living areas
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas, including dishes and organisation
- Laundry duties including washing, ironing, folding, and putting away clothing
- Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms
- Cleaning bathrooms and sanitary areas
- Organising wardrobes and storage areas where required
- Monitoring household supplies and reporting when replenishment is needed
- Careful handling of delicate items, fabrics, fixtures, and furniture
- Occasional household errands, if required
- Supporting with general household upkeep and presentation
- Carrying out additional tasks as requested by the Principal
Person Specification
- Previous experience working in private households preferred (ideally with UHNW individuals)
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and respect for privacy
- Polite, well-mannered, and presentable
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Honest and trustworthy, with a strong sense of responsibility
- Good organisational skills
Requirements
- DBS check (required or willingness to obtain)
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential due to location)
Desirable:
- Experience working with high-end materials and finishes
- Basic understanding of household management
- Flexibility to adapt to changing household needs
