55,000 – 70,000 + PackageThe OpportunityAn established and highly respected construction company in Somerset is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team. Known for delivering high-quality projects across new builds, refurbishments, barn conversions, commercial developments, and heritage restorations, this is an excellent opportunity to work on diverse and rewarding schemes and better your professional experience.Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in managing project finances from initial estimation through to final accounts and completion.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and tenders Cost planning and value engineering Produce bills of quantities and schedules Monitor project costs and financial performance Manage subcontractor and supplier negotiations Handle variations, valuations, and payment applications Produce cost reports and forecasts Ensure contractual compliance Attend site meetings and liaise with stakeholders Final account preparation and agreement

RequirementsEssential:Quantity Surveying qualification Proven experience in a similar role Strong construction knowledge and commercial awareness Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Ability to manage multiple projects Full UK driving licence Desirable:Experience with listed buildings or heritage projects Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts
