Our client is a leading financial consulting firm that helps clients claim R&D tax credits from HMRC. They are looking for a Head of R&D Tax to join their team in the London office and lead the growing team of R&D tax specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of high-quality R&D tax claims for a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors and industries.
  • Expanding the team by hiring, training, and mentoring junior R&D tax consultants.
  • Developing and implementing best practices and processes to ensure compliance and minimise enquiries from HMRC.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, HMRC, and other stakeholders.
  • Providing strategic advice and guidance on R&D tax matters to senior management and clients.

Qualifications

  • A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • At least 4 years of experience in R&D tax consulting, preferably in a Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
  • A proven track record of delivering complex R&D tax claims and managing client expectations.
  • A deep understanding of the UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • A proactive, analytical, and problem‑solving mindset.
