Assistant Accountant (Syndicate)

This role sits within the Syndicate Finance function of a London-based insurance organisation operating in the specialty market. The position supports senior finance professionals in delivering Lloyd’s and group reporting to meet regulatory requirements.

• Support the preparation of core regulatory returns in line with Lloyd’s reporting standards and deadlines
• Assist with ancillary submissions to relevant regulatory bodies
• Oversee the offshore finance operations team, ensuring robust balance sheet controls and accurate bookkeeping
• Review and sign off key reconciliations to audit standards, escalating issues as needed
• Maintain trial balances, including investment and cash asset processes
• Contribute to the maintenance and testing of internal controls for group reporting (e.g., SOX compliance)
• Identify and implement process improvements through feedback and collaboration
• Liaise with external auditors, providing requested data and responses
