Location: Watford (Hybrid) Salary: £45,000 benefits Contract: Full-time, permanent Overview We are seeking a commercially minded Commercial Finance Analyst / FP&A Analyst to join our finance team in Watford. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with the business, analysing financial performance, and supporting strategic decision‑making. You will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, month‑end reporting, and providing insight to senior stakeholders. This position suits a part‑qualified finance professional (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) looking to develop within a fast‑paced, commercially focused environment. Key Responsibilities Commercial Finance & Business Partnering Support commercial teams with financial insight to drive performance and improve profitability. Analyse sales, margin, pricing, and customer performance, identifying drivers and trends. Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership to influence commercial strategy. Develop and maintain financial models to support business cases, scenario analysis, and investment decisions. Monitor KPIs, highlighting risks and opportunities across revenue and cost lines. FP&A (Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning) Assist with the annual budget and regular reforecasting cycles. Consolidate inputs from multiple business units and challenge assumptions where appropriate. Prepare variance analysis, bridging performance between actuals, forecasts, and prior periods. Support long-term strategic planning and rolling forecasts. Month-End Responsibilities Perform month-end analysis including revenue, gross margin, opex and overhead reporting. Prepare journals (accruals, prepayments, adjustments) where required. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with group deadlines. Reconcile key accounts and work closely with the Financial Accounting team to ensure data integrity. Create dashboards and financial packs for senior management review. Data & Systems Work with Excel and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to improve reporting efficiency. Enhance existing reporting frameworks and develop automated processes where possible. Maintain financial models and ensure data accuracy and consistency. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Part‑qualified or recently qualified ACCA / CIMA / ACA (or equivalent experience). Strong analytical and commercial mindset. Excel skills at an advanced level (pivot tables, lookups, modelling). Experience with BI/reporting tools preferred. Excellent communication skills – able to present complex data clearly. Comfortable working with stakeholders across multiple teams. Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
