Were working with a leading UK infrastructure contractor delivering major renewable energy and civils projects across Scotland. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Section Engineer to support delivery of a long term project in Inverness. The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

The Role

You will play a key role in the successful delivery of civils packages, supporting the Project Manager and overseeing all aspects of site engineering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day site engineering activities

  • Setting out, QA, and ensuring works are delivered to spec

  • Producing and managing RAMS, ITPs, and quality documentation

  • Carrying out design checks, take-offs, and technical reviews

  • Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring programme adherence

  • Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

  • Supporting health & safety compliance across site

  • Client liaison and attendance at site/progress meetings

What Were Looking For

  • Experience in a Section Engineer / Site Engineer role within heavy civils

  • Strong background in at least one of the following:

    • Earthworks

    • Reinforced concrete structures

    • Drainage / utilities

    • Roads / infrastructure

  • Proven experience with:

    • Setting out

    • RAMS & ITPs

    • Quality assurance processes

  • Ability to manage xkybehq subcontractors and interface with site teams

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Experience on renewable energy or infrastructure projects

  • CSCS card (essential), SMSTS/SSSTS preferred
