As part of Compass Group, we combine the agility of a growing business with the backing, scale and stability of a global organisation. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead our Reading operation.
The Role
This is a hands on leadership position responsible for the day to day management of warehouse operations and Micro Kitchen logistics. You will lead a team, ensure operational excellence, and drive efficiency across stock, distribution and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily warehouse and Micro Kitchen operations
• Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team
• Plan and allocate workloads to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment
• Oversee stock control, ordering, rotation and inventory accuracy
• Manage fresh product ordering and quality standards
• Ensure all health, safety and hygiene standards are met and maintained
• Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, vehicles and Micro Kitchen assets
• Coordinate driver routes and support delivery operations where required
• Manage customer requests, special orders and operational queries
• Ensure accurate completion of all documentation and supplier processes
• Identify and implement continuous improvements to drive efficiency
Candidate Profile
• Proven experience in warehouse or operations management
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Effective communicator with a proactive approach
• Commercially aware with a focus on performance and efficiency
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively
Salary
£40,000 per annum
Working Hours
45 hours per week
Monday and Wednesday 6am to 3:30pm
Tuesday and Thursday 7:30am to 5pm
Friday 6am to 3:30pm
3 month probation period
