Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: 5 days per week, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend teaching depending on academic timetable needs.

Job Purpose

The Fashion and Events Management will contribute to the delivery, assessment, and development of the BSc (Hons) Fashion Management & Strategy and BA (Hons) Events Management programmes. The role involves teaching across Levels 4–6, supporting students’ academic progress, maintaining subject expertise, and contributing to quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery

Deliver lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials across fashion management, events management, sustainability, strategy, and related subject areas.

Teach topics including brand management, event and festival planning, consumer behaviour, digital engagement, and live experience design.

Provide industry informed academic content and ensure learning materials are current and relevant.

Assessment and Student Support

Design, deliver, and mark assessments in line with College and regulatory requirements.

Provide clear, developmental feedback to support student learning.

Supervise dissertations, placements, live projects, and client based assignments.

Offer appropriate academic and pastoral support to promote student engagement and progression.

Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance

•Contribute to curriculum review and ongoing programme enhancement.

•Participate in moderation, annual monitoring, and other quality assurance processes.

•Implement inclusive teaching and assessment practices in line with institutional policies.

Industry Engagement and Professional Practice

Maintain and develop industry links to support guest lectures, live briefs, and placement opportunities.

•Engage in scholarship, research, or professional practice to maintain subject knowledge and contribute to academic currency.

Academic Contribution

•Support recruitment and outreach activities, including Open Days and induction events.

•Work collaboratively with academic and professional services colleagues to maintain a high quality learning environment.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Education

Required

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Management, Events Management, Business, Creative Industries, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Willingness to obtain Fellowship of Advance HE if not already held.

Preferred

  • PhD or active progress toward a doctoral qualification.
  • PGCert or equivalent teaching qualification.

Knowledge and Skills

Required

Strong subject knowledge in areas such as:

  • Fashion brand management
  • Sustainability and values‑based business
  • Strategic management within creative industries
  • Events and festival management
  • Digital retail, e‑commerce, and audience engagement
  • Project or live experience management
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver inclusive and engaging teaching
  • Competence with digital learning platforms and technologies

Preferred

  • Professional networks within fashion, events, or related creative sectors.
  • Engagement in research, scholarship, or industry practice.

Experience

Required

  • Teaching or training experience in higher education or a comparable professional environment.
  • Experience assessing student work and supporting academic development.
  • Experience contributing to curriculum delivery or module design.

Preferred

  • Industry experience in fashion management, event production, festival management, or related creative fields.
  • Experience supporting quality assurance or enhancement processes.
