Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of multiple projects across our client portfolio, ensuring cost-effective, compliant, and high‑quality outcomes from RIBA stages 0–7.

Role Overview

You will oversee full project lifecycles, manage Health & Safety responsibilities, maintain governance and gateway approvals, and work closely with designers, contractors, and stakeholders. A key focus will be effective change control, risk management, and robust financial

oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Deliver projects ensuring value for money and compliance with Mitie and client methodologies.
  • Identify project success factors and translate these into clear milestones.
  • Establish project roles, responsibilities, and documentation systems.
  • Lead progress reporting, programme development, and monthly project review meetings.
  • Manage change control and communicate contract requirements across the team.

Compliance & Health and Safety

  • Take ownership of Health & Safety throughout all project stages.
  • Ensure CDM compliance and maintain the project risk register.
  • Promote a culture of quality, “right first time”, and continuous improvement.

Commercial & Financial Management

  • Monitor budgets, cost control, and cash flow, ensuring accurate CVR reporting.
  • Support procurement, subcontractor negotiation, and contract compliance.
  • Work with supply chain and commercial teams to drive performance.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
  • Communicate key project information clearly and effectively.
  • Encourage innovation and evaluate completed works to identify improvements.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven project management experience across pre‑construction and construction phases.
  • Strong construction knowledge, planning capability, and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations.
  • Flexible approach with willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Degree in construction/surveying.
  • Professional membership: RICS, CIOB, RIBA, CIBSE, MIET, or APM.
  • MEP experience.
  • Health & Safety qualification: NEBOSH, NVQ Level 6, IOSH.

  • Follow Mitie policies at all times.
  • Report risks, deficiencies, and training needs promptly.
  • Use PPE and equipment correctly.

Information Security

  • DBS check required due to the working environment
