Cell Line Development Scientist: Antibody Therapeutics

We are supporting a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation in the search for a Cell Line Development Scientist to join their Antibody & Novel Therapeutics team on a 12-month contract.
This role sits within a specialist group responsible for the engineering and development of stable mammalian cell lines used in the manufacturing of therapeutic antibodies and biologics. The successful candidate will contribute to host cell engineering, cell line optimisation, and expression system development to support the production of next-generation biologics.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and develop host cell lines suitable for therapeutic manufacturing
• Generate and optimise stable mammalian cell lines for protein expression
• Apply genome engineering technologies such as CRISPR for cell line development
• Analyse expression and engineering data to support optimisation strategies
• Work closely with molecular biology and engineering teams to drive successful outcomes
• Maintain clear and accurate scientific documentation in line with GMP standards
• Communicate progress, challenges and opportunities across multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
• BSc (minimum) in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or related discipline
• Industry experience generating stable mammalian cell lines for protein or antibody expression
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and cell line engineering techniques
• Experience with CRISPR or other genome engineering technologies
• Strong molecular biology experience including cloning, plasmid construction and ddPCR
• Experience with flow cytometry / FACS and single-cell cloning systems
• Strong documentation, reporting and scientific communication skills
• Experience using electronic lab notebooks and molecular biology software tools
