⚡ Project Quantity Surveyor – Power & Energy Infrastructure

I’m currently supporting a growing power and energy infrastructure business that delivers critical engineering solutions across the electricity network.
Due to continued project growth, they are looking to appoint a Project Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial delivery of key construction contracts across the South & West region. This is a great opportunity to work on major power infrastructure and grid projects, playing a key role in ensuring projects are commercially successful while supporting the UK’s wider energy transition.
⚡ The Role
As Project Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee the commercial and financial performance of multiple construction projects, acting as the commercial link between clients, project teams and subcontractors.
Key responsibilities include:
Contract & Commercial Management
- Preparing contract summaries and reviewing key clauses
- Identifying risk areas including payment terms, LDs and programme obligations
- Supporting contract compliance and commercial governance
Variations & Claims
- Managing variations and claims in line with contract requirements
- Supporting project managers with evaluation and submission of claims
- Assisting with negotiation and agreement of commercial changes
Project Financial Control
- Monitoring project cashflow and cost control
- Supporting monthly financial reporting including WIP, cash and debt reporting
- Managing subcontractor commercial processes and payments
Project Delivery Support
- Monitoring project programmes to identify delays or acceleration
- Ensuring milestone payments and invoicing are completed on time
- Representing the commercial team in client meetings and project reviews
What We’re Looking For
- Degree / HND / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Strong experience in pre and post contract quantity surveying
- Experience working on construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong knowledge of standard methods of measurement
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight timelines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Well organised with a proactive and commercial mindset
- Full UK driving licence
