We’re supporting a local authority to appoint a Director – Housing Needs & Support to lead and oversee the delivery of housing needs, support services, and tenancy management across the community.
This is a high-profile, strategic role with significant responsibility and variety. You’ll shape housing and support services to meet diverse community needs, ensure high-quality outcomes for residents, and drive the local authority’s housing priorities. You’ll lead a dedicated team, work closely with internal departments and external partners, and influence policy and practice at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for housing needs, homelessness, and support services within the local authority.
- Develop and implement innovative approaches to housing solutions, including prevention, supported housing, and tenancy sustainment.
- Oversee the operational delivery of housing services, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high-quality resident outcomes.
- Advise elected members and senior officers on housing policy, strategy, and statutory obligations.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, resources, and service performance to achieve organisational objectives.
