Project Manager (Mechanical Bias) – Pumping Projects

- Up to £70,000 + Car/Allowance + 25 Days Holiday + Bonus

J3A Recruitment are working with a growing engineering business delivering pumping solutions across the Thames Water network.
With a strong pipeline of work secured, they’re now looking to bring in an experienced Project Manager with a mechanical background to take ownership of projects across the region.
This isn’t a sit-back PM role — you’ll be fully involved from cradle to grave, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver pumping projects safely, on time, and to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing as Project Manager
- Managing multiple pumping projects across clean & wastewater sites
- Delivering works across pumping stations, upgrades, installs and refurbishments
- Taking full ownership from initial client brief through to final handover
- Carrying out site surveys, scoping works and putting together quotations
- Producing RAMS, supporting design/fabrication drawings and planning delivery
- Managing subcontractors, site teams and programme timelines
- Client liaison throughout — being the go-to person on projects
- Involvement in commercials, variations and NEC contract management
What they’re looking for
- Strong mechanical background within the water industry
- Experience working on pumping stations / pumping solutions is key
- Proven track record managing projects end-to-end
- Comfortable dealing directly with clients and stakeholders
- Experience with NEC contracts and commercial awareness
- Ability to manage multiple projects without things slipping
- HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Thames Water experience highly beneficial
- SMSTS beneficial but not essential
