At Portsmouth Water, we’re looking for an Asset Insight Manager to play a key role in shaping how data informs our asset management decisions. In this role, you’ll coordinate the analysis and reporting of asset performance, helping to support strategic decision-making and provide clear insight into asset value and utilisation. Working collaboratively across the business, you’ll ensure asset information systems are effectively integrated with wider activities, maximising the value and insight gained from modelling and analysis.

What will you be doing?

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Asset Insights team to provide in-depth analysis of asset data metrics and trends, working with departments to shape insight requirements and report on KPIs in line with organisational needs.
  • Support the production of comprehensive reports and dashboards on asset data metrics for the Asset Directorate. Identify areas for improvement in asset insight and data and recommend practical solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align asset management goals with organisational objectives.
  • Promote best practices in asset management data and analysis.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to develop and support effective business processes, ensuring appropriate use of systems, high-quality data inputs, and alignment with Portsmouth Water’s data, business practices and investment plans.
  • Support the development and enhancement of hydraulic modelling capabilities and related services across the organisation.
  • Oversee reporting from systems and support the training of end users.
  • Provide guidance to the business on using asset insight to support asset management processes.
  • Work with teams to deliver meaningful reporting on asset data and support progress in improving it.

What do you need?

Skills, Qualifications & Competencies

  • Strong stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Advanced user of Access and Excel
  • Commercial awareness – while the role does not hold direct budget responsibility, it includes supporting effective supplier spend
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in data management and analysis, with the ability to generate insight from data
  • Experience supporting or coordinating teams, particularly in data-driven environments
  • Demonstrable experience in data management and systems administration
  • Knowledge of asset management principles and practices
  • Degree in Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Understanding of data governance practices
  • Experience using management reporting software
  • Experience supporting project delivery and coordination
