The Opportunity
A well-established groundworks and infrastructure contractor based in Tewkesbury is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
The business delivers a broad range of residential, commercial and infrastructure packages, including bulk earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads and external works. With a strong pipeline of secured projects, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS to take ownership of schemes and play a key role in driving profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
- Full commercial responsibility for groundworks and infrastructure packages.
- Preparation and submission of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Cost value reconciliation (CVR) and monthly reporting.
- Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and payments.
Procurement & Subcontract Management
- Procurement of subcontract packages and materials.
- Prepare and issue subcontract documentation.
- Negotiate terms and manage contractual obligations.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and commercial risk.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Monitor project budgets and forecasts.
- Identify and manage variations and change events.
- Ensure accurate cost tracking across labour, plant and materials.
- Provide regular financial updates to senior management.
Client & Site Liaison
- Work closely with Site Managers and Contracts Managers.
- Attend client meetings where required.
- Support dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.
