Role: 2nd Line Support Engineer

Location: St Helens

Salary: £32,000 – £37,000

Work Pattern: In office

A driver’s licence and MSP experience are required for this role.

About the Role

An established and growing IT services provider is seeking a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join its technical team. The organisation delivers reliable, high-quality IT support to a range of SMEs.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of technologies, supporting clients in maintaining efficient, secure, and well-functioning IT environments. It would suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes a proactive approach, and is keen to develop their technical skillset in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line support for clients.
  • Troubleshoot O365, Windows, and core IT systems.
  • Manage user accounts, access permissions, and email systems.
  • Deliver remote support, with occasional on-site visits.
  • Escalate complex issues and collaborate with wider technical teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Support IT projects, including migrations and system upgrades.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while adhering to security best practices.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an MSP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows environments.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, varied technical environment.
