JOB PURPOSE
An experienced, focused generalist HR professional with excellent interpersonal skills to provide a full comprehensive HR service. To support the HR Manager and the plants adherence Company HR Policies and procedures, legal compliance and best practice. Provide a proactive, effective professional HR service to the plant and all internal customers. You will be responsible for a diverse range of general tasks, including employee administration, monitoring employee benefits, pay queries, providing payroll with employee starter/leaver on a monthly basis, reporting on absences, working on disciplinary matters as necessary and Training & Development. Responsible for ensuring the business delivers effective training, specifically within the areas of Performance Management, Career Development and Succession Planning.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administration of company policies and procedures
- Assisting supervisors and managers in the professional investigation and action with regard to violations of company policy and procedures
- Assisting in all aspects of recruitment
- Provide monthly payroll information to Finance department on employee starters/leavers/changes
- Apply consistent GPI employment, benefits, policies and programs where consistency will drive performance and culture development.
- Produce regular reports for Plant Manager and HR Manager as required
- Drive Culture initiatives that focus on engaging our employees and increasing employee engagement
- Help to drive organisational performance by driving core business objectives
- To coach, support managers in the use of HR policies and practices
- Work in partnership with line managers on performance management, employee relations, resourcing and staff management/development
- Heavy involvement in matters of employee relations, including disciplinary and grievance issues
- Absence management
- Delivery of induction training for new starters and conducting exit interviews for leavers
- Ensuring all elements of HR administration is carried out – e.g. starters, leavers, referencing, security and compliance checks, etc.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to date information on the HR system
- Project work to drive continuous improvement
SKILLS/QUALS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an HR department
- CIPD qualification preferred
- Previous experience in a large manufacturing environment
- Strong organisational skills to handle high volumes of work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment while maintaining excellent delivery and quality performance
- Proven oral and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively
- Solid listening skills to gather information for understanding
- Knowledge of employment law
